I love my Zva crystals! I cut up a large flourish and managed to use just about the entire thing on this card
I would be leaving for Califormia today to attend CHA...BUT..I am not (sigh). My broken foot is to blame. It's hard enough to get around the house much less a show room floor with rolling totes and lots of people. Crutches, electronic chairs...ugh, what a nightmare! I have ridden an electric chair 4 times in stores now and twice, I had to ditch them in the isle with a dead battery (smacks head) I am not complaining at all, I just don't think that travel at this time is a wise decision. Boy, am I ever going to miss my sweet paper crafting friends!!
I have been a busy little beaver behind the scenes...chat more on Monday :)

Zva Creative and the Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special!
There is now an added twist to our blog hops, YAY! As you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project.
The Blog Hop begins HERE and I will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way. Hidden on FIVE of the blogs is a Zva Creative prize package ...YAY! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.
The Blog Hop starts today, January 24th and runs through midnight US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, January 25th and the 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, January 26th on each of the five winning blogs. The full list will be found HERE as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday...plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there. All you need to do is leave a comment on this Zva Blog Hop post...you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. The more times you leave a comment along the blog hop path though, the more chances you will have to be one of the lucky winners.

Happy Sunday!
Hey there...sorry to leave you hanging on my vacation details.
We went because Steve has friends who were married here in AZ but wanted everyone to celebrate with them in Mexico...a place they love and wanted to share with friends. This is where the big party was at:
It was the coolest house I have ever been in...wow!
The marguaritas were killer...but no, not the reason for my broken foot
I did have the single most delicious cup of vanilla latte
I wish my broken foot came with a cool story as to how I did it, but regretfully, it's bor-ing...I just stepped off from the curb wrong, my foot rolled, that's it. It hurt but I didn't think it was broke. The next morning it hurt, and was swollen...well, it's a long story, but I did venture to a small town to see the doctor. The emergency room was a super fun experience though. They didn't speak a lick of English, but the cab driver helped us with that. A sweet woman helped Steve with my crutches, no words exchanged, she just smiled and helped him.
I went into an examining room, desk, examining table, some supplies and a REAL typewriter on the desk...wow.
The doctor asked me to write my name on a small piece of scrap paper, it had a scribble on it (that small paper is probably still sitting on that desk)
They took my x-ray, and handed it to me (no words on it)
they looked at it, cracked bone...gave me a boot
I will post a project (or two) tomorrow
xo
this lucky gal just won an issue of Paper Crafts Color Inspiration!

the combo, along with 4 super sweet cards are found on pages 26/27
I am back from vacation...ahhhh, how refreshing, I needed that! We went to Sayulita, Mexico which is about 1 hour from Puerta Viarta, Mexico and it wa everything that I imagined and more. It was my frist time in Mexico. It was SO beautiful and everyone was SO nice!!
Here is a view from our hotel room (that was in a converted home)
We walked through an incredible cemetary to get to this private beach
we took a boat tour for the day and saw humpback whales (way cool)
...and this is my souvenier...
I broke the side of my foot on the third day...ack!
I will fill you all in on more details as soon as I can. I have a million and thirteen things to do today. chat on Friday, ok?
*FF The space between your eyebrows is called the Glabella* (I don't like that)
they melt my heart.
I lived on one in the Baltimore Harbor for about 8 months. It was cool but a bit rough at times (not just the waves). Just after Mitchell was born, we were looking for a place to live while we transitioned from the west back to the east. My ex-husband thought about living on a sialboat. Ummm, ok, why not? (and no, we have never sailed before) We brought in ice every week for the ice chest (our fridge), cooked on a hot plate and showered at the marina. We had a little TV that had a couple of channels (I watched soaps back then)...it did have a built in VCR, so we watched movies. I painted back then...
this is a photo of my painting, framed behind glass, but I am sure that you can get the gist. I painted a photo of Mitch with black and white acrylic paint.
When it was time to move back to NY, we sold the boat for the same price that we bought it for.
*FF stern, bow, port, starboard. The back of the boat is often referred to as aft, and the front as forward. Port and left are associated with the color red, and starboard and right are associated with blue or green*

Paper Crafts hops are always fun, don't you think?
Today I am here to chat about the fab-u-lous Color Inspiration idea book that I mentioned on Wednesday.
This was one issue that stretched my creativity to the limit. Many color combos were intimidating to me, because they were outside of my comfort zone...but I had a blast playing! I loved the process of searching through my craft room for specific colors...it felt like I was on a treasure hunt!
10 designers were challenged to create a new card using the same colors that sweet Lea used on her cover card. Here's mine:
For further inspiration, using this same fun color combo, please visit these talented designers:
THIS is where you will find this amazing book!
If you stop over to the Paper Crafts Connection blog, you will have a chance to win a super huge prize (yay)
You also have a chance to win a copy of Color Inspiration for Card Makers by leaving a comment here (and also at the blogs listed above)
Since I am currently on vacation, tell me where you think I went. You do not need to guess the correct place to win, I will choose a random winner from all comments, no matter where you guess. You have until Sunday, Jan. 16th to play along. I return on Tuesday, so I will be able to post my winner on Wednesday, so please come back then to look for your name...good luck :)
I used a color combo featured in one of the latest Paper Crafts special issues called Color Inspiration for Card Makers found on page 96/97. Please join in on the fun at the Paper Crafts Connection Blog this week
