Here's the cover of Card Creations 8 up close that features the cards that I was inspired by...isn't it wonderful in every way? (it's available now people...and linked above) ;o)
I changed the direction of my card and kept the main panel image red...I am all for NOT-coloring stamped images LOL (thanks Alicia for choosing a perfect image). I used 3 ribbons and 3 paper scraps for my background and cut a notch in each end to add interest. I love her green scalloped edge, but I thought it would take away from my cuts in the end. I also decided not to stitch on my card...dunno why, just wanted to keep it simple I guess
I kept fairly close to Julie's design elements...they were just too fun to not tie in somehow! I have seen her fabulous tutorial on her handmade flower accent, but I simply wasn't ready to make that commitment at the time, so I came across some ruffles ribbon and gave it a go...I am thrilled with the results. I chose to make my own wood grain letters and changed up the sentiment a bit.
I am a sucker for Betsy's color combo, so I was excited to lift her card! I have most of the supplies that she used, but I really wanted to "make it my own" and change it up quite a bit, so I created my own script background with a stamp and just had fun with a sticker and alternate stamp and buttons
don't forget...I have a Card Creations 8 issue for one lucky person:
I had my daughter choose a number between 1 and 21 (the number of the last posted comments) and she chose number 3...I searched for her name on all 3 days...and she did leave a comment on all 3 days...yay! The winner is:
congrats Karen!! Please send me an e-mail with your address girlie :)
*FF Crossing one's fingers is a way of secretly making the sign of the Cross. It was started by early Christians to ask for divine assistance without attracting the attention of pagans*
BIG hugs to you all :)
Perhaps teaching my sons to cross their fingers would be more easier than trying to teach them the appropriate orientation of the sign of the Cross... Thanks for this fun little challenge and for a copy of the magazine!
