Today the Papertrey Ink designers are showcasing an adorable stamp set called "Just For You" that was created by super cute Lisa Johnson. (all of their blog links are to the right) This set covers oh' so many gift giving occasions. My only hobby is paper crafting, but I do love making quick and easy treats!
I came up with an idea of how to make super simple strawberry shortcake!
Of course we start with the freshest strawberries! I cut white card stock down to fit on the top of this plastic container. I added 2 scalloped cut borders. One in pink felt and another from blue paper. It's embellished with 2 flower accents and a green silk bow that's wrapped around the lid. I stamped on the bottom portion of the white base ...this leaf pattern is found in the "Just For You" set.
Next is a small tub of strawberry flavored whip cream. Most whip cream lids have a recipe on the back, so it's easy to remove the paper top. I traced it onto blue paper and added to it. I die cut the flower from felt and stamped the round sentiment onto white card stock. The stamp set comes with an apple image, but I thought that it could esily be adapted to be a strawberry as well. Did I succeed? The strawberry was stamped with Raspberry Fizz ink and I added a green felt stem to the top.
Here's a close-up
The last ingredient are buscuts. I wrapped the cylinder shape with card stock, die cut a label and made another strawberry accent from a stamped apple. This time I cut the image out and popped it up with a foam square. This versatile set also includes a sweet flower image that I stamped onto white card stock, cut it out and added a yellow button in the center. Homemade and handmade are 2 very important sentiments that complete this set.
a gift bag is the perfect carry all for this gift set. Everything fits perfectly inside. I used borders from the Raspberry Suite Color Couture, cut them down and added them to the top. I cut my own felt strawberry accent, complete with a stamped flower accent. How very cool if you have the chance to handpick your strawberries, but otherwise, store bought ones are just as delish!
Of course I just HAD to make up a batch...this is the final result...yummmm
