Paper Hugs

OMGosh!

After reading my post yesterday and your sweet comments, I feel that a further explanation is appropriate.  I tried to keep it as short and simple as possible but this might not have shown CHF in a positive light...that was certainly not my intention.

 

In today's unusual climate, where changes happen every day and new opportunities arise, I chose to explore some options that exist.

 

It was a mutual parting and I wish Richard and Liz the best as they move forward.

 

There are lots of changes happening in my life right now.  The bucket was full and it was time to tip the bucket.  It all ended on a positive note. 

 

I will be supporting all of my releases, old and new.

 

I look forward to many years of creativity with all of you.

Hello Monday

a brand new week...and I couldn't be more happy about it.

I received my April stamps recently and I am working on creating some samples.  The weekend...forgetabout it...it was CRAZY. :) 

It was announced in the latest CHF Newsletter that I will no longer be Illustrating for Cornish Heritage Farms.  My last day will be on April 3rd.  I was unhappy there, let's just keep it at that.  I wish them the best.  I have art that is scheduled to be released.  It hurts me knowing that I might have let some of you down and I really hope that you will understand.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, for your love and support over the last year and a half.  You all mean so much to me.  It has been beyond wonderful to express myself through my drawings.  I am not going any where (my life would never be complete without scrapbooking/stamping) I have left some windows open and some cute birdies have flown in. I will fill you in on Wednesday.  I hope that you will continue to come and see me here.  I would truely miss you.

The set is called Zooper Fun...I am really excited about it. I used My Mind's Eye and Making Memories papers, American Crafts ribbon, Prisma pencils, Ranger ink and a Heidi Swapp distress tool.

October Afternoon paper, CHF sentiment stamp, circle punches by Marvy Uchida, ink by Storage Units Ink. buttons by Autumn Leaves and card stock by Core'dinations.

*Tip cut a paper to add to the center of a card and machine sew around it...then lift the paper off from the card to reveal a sewn frame*

This is my way of saying enough with the snowflakes already...come on Spring!!  Another reason why I love Scrapbook & Cards Today's release day...spring is coming!  :)

*FF Rubber is one of the ingredients in bubble gum* (nice, just thinking about gnawing on some shoe sole over here)

now for MY blog candy.

Collage Elements stamp set, 6 CLAUDINE HELLMUTH paints, and her Gloss paint, canvas paper and brushes too, some Color Box bottled ink...no idea what you are gonna do with that, but it's still inky fun, some chipboard, a cool pen by Sakura, some neutral SEI trims and a foam sunflower stamp.  Just a few fun things that I hope will spark your creativity.

tell me...if you made a resolution or if you chose a word to motivate yourself this year...have you been good at achieving your goals?  If you did not make a resolution of any kind...tell me what you wish you were better at or need to take more time to concentrate on.  I think that sometimes we let out goals pass us by...so this is a reminder to step to it cuties.  You have until midnight on Sunday...I will post the ONE winner on Monday.

It's Monday and I have some blog candy winners...oh' yes I do :)

But first...

While I have you here...I'd love to show you another book that inspires me.  It's by the very talented, CLAUDINE HELLMUTH and it's called The Scrapbooker's Creativity Kit.  You can find it here: Amazon.com: The Scrapbooker's Creativity Kit: Prompts And Ideas To Jump Start

This is what it looks like...and here's the gist:

 

This clever box includes an idea book, color cards and word cards that are intended to spark your creativity.  Spread the cards out on a table, close your eyes and pick some cards.  Decide to choose 2 or more colors and only 1 word prompt card...the word on top is the one you will use.  The cards are double sided.  The word and color needs to be on your creation somewhere. 

 

In this chapter, the colors are Cyan and Purple and the word is Play.  There are 11 samples for each featured color combo and word.

 

and here is my sample:

 

as you can see, I chose 3 colors and my word was "home".  My Mind's Eye, Little Yellow Bicycle and Basic Grey papers, CHF Weave Backgrounder, American Crafts stickers, Maya Road chipboard and Basic Grey buttons

*Tip stamp a pattern onto "loud" paper to tone it down (like I did with the yellow paper)*

You will not see my work among these pages, but there are some seriously amazing creations found within this book.

oh' my...

how this week flew by :)

randomness...are you a fan like me?  I guess that makes me an "artsy" type.  No way can I pull off a Punky Brewster style but I do have a fondness for my fish head sneakers and jeans.  Sometimes combining colors and "stuff" when I create feels random but most certainly intentional.  I am the most punctual person you can meet, and I am an avid list maker, so I am pretty far from a "flybytheseatofherpantskindagirl" but I do like to have fun!

Take this card for example.

 

well, you all must know by now that I create according to publication schedules, so creating a Christmas card in March is perfectly normal for me.  I love the fact that you will probably never find a fat topped candy cane.  I hope you are all having pure fun when you create and not too worried about the "rules".  Throw pink into your Christmasy color combo.  Hop on that skateboard and ride baby.

My Mind's Eye papers and American Crafts ribbon and rub-on...and that freaking delicious peacock feather chipboard is Basic Grey, ummm, yeah.  I used a We R Memory Keepers Cropadile to add an eyelet to my envie.  MAMBI rhinestones...just the perfect colored orange blingety-bling.

*Tip don't be afraid to cut chipboard, like I did on the bottom of the feathers*

*Tip 2 don't forget to jazz up envies to coordinate with your cards...it's more fun to play with a hand delivered one...besides, you just might get a hug and piece of cake out of it*

*FF In the original version of Cinderella the slipper was made out of fur, not glass!* (honestly though, not sure which would be better, stepping into a hairy who knows what...or a shoe made of glass that should, beyond all reason, break as soon as you put your weight on them)

I have a bit of a headache today so I need to keep this quick...BUT...I will have a super fun give-a-way on Wed...you won't want to miss it my cute friends.

so sorry that I didn't venture into blogland yesterday...seriously think the day was swallowed by a black hole somehow. Making The Grade and Ocean Friends CHF stamps were used along with a cute Sassafrass sticker (I found out that they dropped the "lass" part at CHA) My Mind's Eye paper, Storage Units ink and some Making Memories buttons.

*Tip color with colored pencils...don't be afraid to press down hard to get a "marker-made" look*

*Tip 2 trace decorative edged paper to create a unique card shape*

*FF A 'face-off' in hockey was originally called a 'puck-off'* (now THAT'S funny!)

just a quickie

Core'dinations WhiteWash collection...and yes it is super fun to play with.  My favorite card stock yet.  I paired it with some CHF stamps...the polka dot pattern is from the new Collage Elements set and the lined paper pattern is a Scrapblock.  Jenni Bowling chipboard buton...enabeler alert...seriously "heart" these things! some American Crafts ribbon and Clearsnap inks

*Tip tie the bow and add on top of a button accent...to make it look like it goes through the holes*

*FF Forensic scientists can determine a person's sex, age, and race by examining a single strand of hair* (they can't tell my Mom's maiden name, the time I had breakfast this morning and if there was glitter on it, not even my favorite movie?...so not impressed LOL)
