:)
Thanks so much for welcoming my May release with me :)
So sorry that I didn't make it back to make a "regular" post. First my camera went wonky, then my computer...I spent the day with my kids and never made it back to post.
This card uses "The Landing Pad, U R A Hoot and Birthday Centers" stamp sets by Cornish Heritage Farms. SEI paper, die cut and ribbon, Srazon Timber Brown Ink, Prosmacolor colored pencils and a Sakura glitter pen. Textured cream Core'dinations cardstock was used for the owl and hat.
*Tip color in some of the stripes in the patterned paper to match the colors used in coloring in the stamped image...it helps everything coordinate better*
*Tip 2 I drew some brown squggles on the die cut journal square to add more interest*
*Tip 3 instead of stitching around a card, hand draw a frame with a pen and ruler*
*FF The first couple to be shown in bed together on prime time television were Fred and Wilma Flintstone* (too bad their bed was made of stone)
*Publishing Tip - Every publication that I know of send you at least 1 copy of the issues that your projects are published in. These magazines send goodies (product) for payment: Scrapbook & Cards Today, CARDS, Scrapbook Trends, Paper Trends and Bead Trends. These magazines pay with a check: Paper Crafts, Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks, CardMaker, Crafts N Things, Paper Creations, Scrapbooking & Beyond. Memory Makers (not idea books, only monthly issues) and BHG Scrapbooks Etc. These publications send you a copy of the publication that you are featured in...you must mail them your creations...and you wll find out what was used if/when a magazine arrives in your mailbox: The Stamper's Sampler, Take 10 and Scrap & Stamp. I hope I didnt miss anyone* :)
Have a great weekend

Ooh love that cool paper, it looks so good with brown! I always enjoy your little tips too, you have an eye for the little details that make a difference... :-)
Today I received a book I had ordered on Amazon after reading a good review on Craft Critique, it's called "Card makers'Sketchbook"... I just browsed very quickly through it but a name caught my eye on page 91...it was "Kim Hughes".
How cool! :-)

P.S: Julia Stainton just made the cutest card with your new set, she paper pieced the birdie: http://bellepapier.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/05/06/a-sheltering-tree/
And her black board project with the other new set is too cute too: http://bellepapier.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/05/09/making-the-grade/

LOVE that card...your style speaks to so many of us stampers/paper crafters. I love to see what is new each month and people always ask me about the birds when I make cards for them, they love the birds/owls too!!!
