here's something fun...

YouTube - Scrapblocks Product Debut I couldn't get this to show up on my post, but follow the link to see a great video that Lisa Strahl and Sherrie Siemens produced to introduce you to Scrapblocks™

Here is the same Scrapblock™ used in 3 ways to show 3 different looks.  The first one is distressed/shabby

BK-LIVE-LIFE

Perfect Plaid is the name of this wonderful 6 x 6 Scrapblock™.  Tsukineko ink, Prism cardstock, Imaginisce rhinestone (clear bling, colored with a Copic marker to make it light pink) Sentiment and clock from Time To Stamp set found in The Rummage Bin.  Sand block by Making Memories

*Tip crumple, flatten and sand the stamped paper to distress it*

BK-ANNIVERSARY

This card shows how this stamp can be elegant...the gold line accents are hard to see, but very pretty IRL

Perfect Plaid 6 x 6 Scrapblock™.  Tsukineko ink, Prism cardstock, Sentiment stamp found in Mona Lisa Moments and it's called Script Essentials.  Imaginisce pearl brad, Beaus Regards ribbon and Provo Craft decorative scissors.  Sakura glitter pen.

*Tip use a glitter pen and ruler to add a shiny touch to the pattern*

BK-BABY

and here is the clean look of this image...somewhat preppy, but cute

Perfect Plaid is the name of this wonderful 6 x 6 Scrapblock™.  Tsukineko ink, Prism cardstock, sentiment stamp is from the NEW Baby Love that is releasing this week.  Making Memories stickers, Bo Bunny paper and Beuax Regards ribbon

*Tip stamp onto a smooth paper for finer detail...stamp on textured paper for added texture*

*The topics you choose to be your theme or inspiration will help to customize the look and feel of your stamping...color choices can also change the look and feel of a pattern*

And here are 2 cards using stamps from the second June release called Paradise Found

1-PARADISE-FOUND

This card used my sentiment "Paradise Found", a subtle palm tree cluster and bold arrow.  I also used the Distressed ledger Scrapblock™ stamp along the left side to add a pattern.  The sticker is Making Memories (I added brown pen along the outline)  Clearsnap ink, Basic Grey paper, Beaux Regards ribbon

1-TRAVEL-SAFE

The stamps used on this card from Paradise Found are the silhouette airplane, palm tree cluster and the "Travel Safe" sentiment.  Making Memories die cut accent  and paper.  Once again, I used the Distressed ledger Scrapblock™ stamp along the right side to add a pattern.  Clearsnap and Stazon ink, Autumn Leaves buttons and Jute

*Tip it's fun to add stamps onto already wonderful products to add a unique touch every time*

*FF Months that begin on a Sunday will always have a "Friday the 13th."*

Thanks for stooping by...hope to "see" you tomorrow :)

SOOOO much to share...

Today is a Backgrounder release day at CHF.  Backgrounders can be found under CHF line...unmounted (or mounted if preferred)...backgrounders.  Here's a direct LINK The 2 newest sets are called Hexagon Tiles and Alphanumber and they are divine!

YOU-ARE-APPRECIATED-MM

Alphanumber backgrounder used with stamps from Making The Grade stamp set all by Cornish Heritage Farms.  Making Memories patterned paper, Prism cardstock, Stazon ink and SEI buttons.  Prismacolor colored pencils.

*Tip color in the image with a darker color and then erase it to get a lighter shade*

A-KID-WITH-CLASS

This is a magnet made up of the Alphanumber backgrounder, Writing Paper Scrapblock(TM) and stamps from Making The Grade (CHF) Bazzill chipboard flower, Clearsnap ink and a magnet...voila!

*Tip These would make great gifts to add with your childs school photo*

WARM-GREETINGS

Here is the Hexagon Tiles backgrounder paired with a Script essentials sentiment.  Prima flower, Basic Grey paper, Prosmacolor colored pencil and Stazon ink

*Tip color in the diamond only for a cool look*

MISS-YOU-NEW-BK

This is the Hexagon Tile backgrounder stamp again, only stamped twice and now it looks dimensional.  I also used stamps from my Cute Curls set.  Core'dinations cardstock, Beaux Regards ribbon, Prismacolor colored pencils and some zig zag stitches

*Tip stamp backgrounders multiple times with the same or different inks for unique effects*

*FF Place an individual sheet of Bounce under the front seat of your card to freshen the air* (fresh=good)

a new page

I have been making more and more scrapbook pages lately thanks to the CHF challenges.  So, here's one using one of the new Scrapblocks TM.

WHO-ME

A Fine Houndstooth Scrapblock is what I used to create a frame for my photo.  Making Memories journal paper, Bo Bunny polka dot paper, Basic Grey solid base paper, Basic Grey letters, Maya Road chipboard, Versafine ink, Kaiser bling and a Sakura pen

*Tip Scrapblocks are 6 x 6 and so are those great journal cards made by Making Memories, so they work very well together*

*Tip 2 bend shipboard (like I did with the butterfly) to add interest*

*FF Sand fleas stay below the surface until they smell blood*(can I say ewww fast enough..,too bad we can't hide our blood scent...double ewwww)

And for those of you who would like to know how to add a link, I added a link to my favorites and dragged it into my blog post.  Don't ask me why my link is purple though.  ;)

May 27, 2008

:)

I hope you all spent some time in the sunshine today.  It's nice to have some decent weather.  (hope you did too)

Here's a card that I made from a sketch found at Di Hickman's blog.

OUT-FOR-PUB-SIGN-OCT-07

I used Black Magic cardstock by Core'dinations (a very cool innovation!) stamps are from The Rummage Bin "Beautiful set" and the centiment is from the Motivational Front & Centers sets.  Making Memories ribbon (isn't it yummelicious?)  Heidi Swapp distress tool and Stazon ink (happy day, I stunbled across how to a link )

*Tip use a distress tool or the side of scissors or your fingernail to rough up the edges of paper to add texture.  The beautiful thing about Black Magic paper is that it's black on one side and colored on the other, genius, right?*

*FF In Wauwatosa, Wisconsin,  No person shall spit... upon the floor or stairways of any public hall or building or upon the floor ...or upon any sidewalk abutting on any public street or alley of said city* (surprisingly, they didn't mention not spitting on said city people there)

changing it up...

Today's challenge is to create an altered project...anything goes.  I chose a home decor piece made with my daughter in mind.  I hope you decide to play along.  Please check the links to the other CHF designers to the right to see what they have created as well.  We would love it if you would upload to the CHF Gallery and share your projects with us.

I used a new polka dot stamp by CHF from the NEW SCRAPBLOCKS line.  Please visit Lisa Strahl's blog to learn more.   I also used silhouette blooms stamp sets by CHF.  EK Success home decor, Stazon ink.

*Tip use a backgrounder stamp multiple times with different colors to create a unique pattern*

*FF The most common speed limit sign in the US is 25mph* (vroom vroom people)

Happy Memorial Day.  Thank you to our past and present military for their dedication and protection.  What they do for us is truely priceless and greatly appreciated..

How about soem blog candy?  I have an "America The Beautiful" stamp set to give away.  Just link a card or project (old or new) using any 2 of these 3 colors (red, white and blue) and I will randomly choose a winner on Wed.  I will post the winner on Thursday of this week.  (knowing me, I may just have other fun things to give away also *wink* )

TGIF

I honestly cannot believe that it's Friday, already.  I have had such a looong day, so I am going to make this farily quick.

B-CELEBRATE-INVITATION

My Mind's Eye journal card, Tim Holtz grungeboard, Stazon ink, DCWV and Luxe papers and some Glitz bling baby!!

*Tip a simple stitch can really make such a difference in detail*

*FF The largest living thing on the face of the Earth, is a mushroom that's underground in Oregon.  It measures 3 and a half miles in diameter* (how on the face of the Earth do they know this?  I say let's figure out how to make fuel out if it) :)

*Friday's Publishing Tip most submissions call for your e-mailed image to be under 300k.  To achieve this size, change the largest size to 500 pixels and that usually does it*

and here is an old drawing that my daughter made quite a few years ago that I hope brings a smile to your face.

May 22, 2008

so, can you dance?

I decided to watch "so you think you can dance" it was VERY fun to watch.  Some dancers are truely amazing.  I took ballet and tap classes for 8 years and dropped it like a bad habit for boys one day.  Being the artist that I am, I love sitting with my mouth hanging wide open watching true talent in action.  I am looking forward to this season (this is a first for me)

As far as the scrapping world...I am working on Core'dinations Cardstock and playing a little in between.  Tomorrow is my kids last day of school, so that will change my creative time a bit, which is perfectly fine with me.  I have been playing with a friend's Cuttlebug...is this ever a sweet tool!!  My blog was mentioned on the Ott-Lite blog, which I think was very cool since I inspired her adorable layout (which I don't think happens very often).  I have 2 Ott-Lites and I "heart" them.  You can see it...ummmm, can't seem to find the link key now that Type Pad changed things up a bit...I liked the OLD way...whine...so sorry, I will need to ask a friend to help me.

B-HAPPY-HALLOWEEN

Tinkering Ink rub-ons, MAMBI rhinestones, Beaux Regards ribbon, SEI die cut bracket, Basic Grey paper and Clearsnap ink...and I worked the zig zag stitch.

*Tip think of what you can create, shape wise with bling...it's fun!!*

*Tip 2 to ink hard to reach places, rub a Q-tip across the ink and squeeze that where you would like it to go*

*FF Maine is the toothpick capitol of the world* (they're proud, we get the point)

hope to "see" you tomorrow :)

May 21, 2008

wahooooo DC rawks!!

I am SO glad that he won!!  What an interesting show American Idol was.  I loved seeing Bryan Adams and George Michael.  I hope GM isn't sick, cuz he sure did look like it...it made me sad.  I still love 80's music, so it was a fun show for me!  Did anyone else think Archie looked so odd doing that Risky Business commercial?  DC's version was so good though :)
OUT-FOR-PUB-SIGN-OCT-07

sUUUper simple card using Core'dinations cardstock, My Mind's Eye plaid paper, Cosmo Cricket rub-on and by now, you probaby know the rest :)  oh' and my new favorite tool...a scalloped punch by McGill.

*Tip square cards are very pleasing to the eye, so give them a try*

*FF A lion's roar can be heard from 5 miles away* (dang, is that what woke me up last night?)

May 20, 2008

hey there

hope all is well.  Watched the big ol' AI tonight.  So sorry judges...DC rawked!!  He has such a natural stage presence and David A just looks so awkward and uncomfortable to me.  Yeah, he can sing, but well, dunno what it is.  David A will probably win, but only because he will be a better as a puppet...did I say that out loud?  Looking forward to the finale :)
