January 2008

January 31, 2008

something a little different

here is a CD case that I made from patterned paper and embellished with rub-ons.  It's currently in the Feb. Crafts N Things magazine.

Cdcase

*Tip gently pull a paper CD cover apart, and use it as a template and make covers out of any paper you like.  Use a transparency for the window*

This is a card that I made for the CHF CHA booth :)

Welcome_baby_boy

Title: Welcome Baby Boy

I used the Welcome Hug stamp set, Clearsnap Pigment Ink and Prism card stock.

*Tip 2 stamp image and then cut it out with a circle punch*

*FF here's another NYS law for ya...A person may not walk around on Sundays with an ice cream cone in his or her pocket* (bwaaahahahahaha this peels my paint!)

I am off to clean my scrap table and prepare for a couple of friends that are coming over to crop with me tomorrow night.  I am so glad that they come to see me so often, other wise, my scrap space would completly get out of control with clutter.  This gives me a good reason to make my space look presentable.  :)

thank you for stopping by

January 30, 2008

so, here's...

another easy card for ya' tonight :)

Thankyoutree

Title: Thank You

I used a Row Of Trees stamp by CHF alonf with some lined Collage Press papers and Beaux Regards ribbon.  Clearsnap Ink.  "thank You" is from the CHF SOTM

*Tip stamp onto the same paper twice...once in brown and again in pink.  Cut the pink layer out and add on top of the base stamped brown image*

*Tip 2 change the colors to blues and greens for a masculine look*

*FF If NASA sent birds into space they would soon die; they need gravity to swallow* (Gulp...how did they figure this out?)

speaking of NASA...when I was 21, I went to Florida for Spring Break and we went to the NASA space station.  This was my first discovery of Dippin' Dots...quite possibly the greatest food invention eva (freeze dried ice cream for astronauts)...I LOVE this stuff!!!  The next time I came across this fabulous treat was in Maryland about 2 years later.  I have since found it at our Hoggle Zoo and at our Amusement park called Lagoon.  I look forward to eating this stuff every year...crazy, I know.  Just recently I came across it at WALMART of all places.  It comes in a pack of 4 and it's called Molli Coolz and it's delicious!  They carry it in Banana Split, Butterfinger and Oreo...yeah, it's nummy :)

January 29, 2008

just chekcing in to say hello to my friends :)  Hope you had a very nice Tuesday.  kind of a boring day here.  I just got done watching American Idol...looks like some amazing talent this year,  I am not a fan of TV but I am looking forward to Survivor starting next week.

Thankyoubutterfly

Here's another card on the "simpler" side.  I stamped the butterfly onto cream card stock and used ink and colored pencils to add color.  HERE is where you will find the beautiful stamps that I used.

*Tip apply darker colors on the bottom and the lighter ones on top...this is because the light hits the top if most images*

*FF Babies are born without kneecaps. They don't appear until the child reaches 2-6 years of age* (thinking about them crawling on the floor makes my knees hurt just thinking about it)

hope to see you tomorrow :)

hugs hugs, Kim

January 28, 2008

yet another week

I am ready, and you?  I am doing my best to scare the germs that are filling my house with colds.  Hope that I can dodge them!!

This card is a bit different...not sure if I love it really.  Thought I'd share it here any ways.

Thankyoublooms

Title: Thank You

I used Bloomin' Beautiful and Silhouette Blooms 1 and 2 along with a polka dot backgrounder and Prism card stock.  Clearsnap ink and MM fibers

*Tip try mixing solid and line art stamp images...you might like what yu see*

*FF Debra Winger was the voice of E.T.* (this is surprising to me) maybe we can all use this as a reminder to "phone home" and tell someone that you love them.

stay healthy everyone :)

Moxy

Gracias
I have been posting cards that are on the 'simpler" side lately, so I thoght I'd post a more "complex" one today :)
Title: Gracias
I used a Spanish Script and a Lined Paper Backgrounder along with Silhouette Blooms 2 stamp set.  Clearsnap Ink, Prism card stock.  I stamped the flower with white ink and pressed it against the lined paper backgrounder with red ink on it (the kiss technique)...I then sprinkled clear embossing powder on the flower and heat embossed the image.  Then I rubbed chalk over the image and rubbed the chalk in.
*Tip I use a dried up baby wipe for this technique.  It works so much better than a paper towel or tissue*
