Happy Saturday!!

I don't have too much to talk about today, but I wanted to pop in and say Hello.  :)

Cpslovekim

Title: Love

I made this card for the CPS blog this month.  College Press papers, Tim Holtz grungeboard, Clearsnap inks.  "love" stamp from my Scripty Words stamp set.

Lovestamps

Title: Love (stamps)

This is a card that I made with NO patterned paper.  The card above is "scrappy" while this one is "stampy".  I used the Petite Pattern and Houndstooth backgrounders on the green paper, Lined Paper backgrounder on the cream circle, Spanish Script backgrounder for the taupe accent circles, "love" stamp from Scripty Words stamp set, the flower is from Bloomin' Beautiful stamp set and a flourish stamp by Fancy Pants.  Clearsnap Ink.

*Tip I inked on the grungeboard with a purple ink and then again with pink ink*

*FF Bullet proof vests, fire escapes, windshield wipers, and laser printers were all invented by women* (you go girls)

I will chat more tomorrow

good news

Yesterday I received some of my second released stamps from CHF to give away here on my blog.  Cornish Heritage Farms has been a dream to work for!  So, look for some blog candy sightings soon.

We are preparing for CHA and that has me all just so excited!!!  I have a rush that will for sure take me through February.  I cannot WAIT to show you the January and CHA/Feb stamp release.  Here's a slight hint...more silhouettes and "scrappy" images to play with. :)

Thankschf

Title: Thanks

I used a Broad Stripe backgrounder and a Paisley backgrounder by CHF, "thanks" is from Scripty Words stamp set and the flower is from Bloomin' Beautiful stamp set,  Clearsnap and Ranger inks, Prism Card Stock

*Tip I used a "kiss technique" First, I inked the paisley backgrounder and then pressed the broad stripe backgrounder onto it, then I pressed the Borad Stripe stamp onto my paper.  I did the same thing with the flower.  The "kiss technique" works best with solid red rubber stamps*

*Tip 2 BOWS Basically...have plenty of ribbon to work with and cut off excess when you are done.  Tie a bow like you woudl on your shoe and use your fingers to form the perfect loops.  It might take many tries to get the bow just right...pull, fluff, tighten...over and over until you achieve the desired result*

*FF Leonardo da Vinci could write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time* (ummm wow!)

Have a FAB weekend!!

back into the swing of things

is it just me or does it seem like a calm after the storm?  The sun seems brighter and today seems to feel like a fresh new beginning to me.  I am so ready for a new year.  Not sure about being one year closer to 40, but I will deal :)

Merci

Title: Merci

I used a French Script Backgrounder and a Petite Pattern Backgrounder from CHF, Autumn Leaves chipboard flower, Ranger and clearsnap Ink, Fancy Pants paper.  Making Memories scalloped paper and decorative brad

*Tip ink with the petite pattern backgrounder first and add the French Script on top.  Stamp the French Script backgrounder onto another cream paper and cut out "merci" (utilize the words within a worded backgrounder stamp)*

*FF Many hamsters only blink one eye at a time*

thanks for stopping by :)

December 26, 2007

hello friends :)

we are still in vacation mode here...days seem to last so looooong.  It's been fun watching my kids enjoy their new toys and games...they are super cute!!  I took some pictures today of our Christmas tree and I "think" I was able to get some good shots.  I get motivated to scrap when I have some decent pictures to work from.  I think that's why I have grown to love card making so much...no journal and any sentiment goes.  I love to design a scrapbook page but feel like I am ruining it with a title and journaling sometimes...is that weird?

I am giving away 2 winter issues of Scrapbook & Cards Today and another Simply Cards Today Idea Book on the 2 Peas message board.  Feel free to post there if you would like to be added to the random list.  The post is found HERE

Supah Star and Quirky Alphabet stamps along with the lined paper backgrounder by CHF.  American Crafts ribbon and Bazzill bling card stock

*Tip ink lighter in some spots on purpose to allow the text to be seen easier*

*FF Every time you lick a stamp, you're consuming 1/10 of a calorie* (kinda crazy to think that I gained weight by licking 50 Christmas card envelopes)

Have a nice night...hope to see you tomorrow

Christmas Cheer stamp set, Making Memories Noteworthy paper, Doodlebug glitter paper and white glitter, Autumn Leaves buttons.

*Tip don't be afraid to make cards that don't fit into standard envelopes, there are plenty of ways to make your own to fit any size card.  It's fun to go "outside the lines" sometimes*

*FF The candy cane first gained popularity in churches, where it was given as a treat to children who behaved themselves during services*

Hope you have a joyous day!

Merry Christmas Eve

I am sure many of you will be a bit tied up tomorrow, so Merry Christmas early :)

We picked up a cooked rotisserie chicken today and enjoyed a nice, quiet early dinner together.  I miss my family out east every day of the year, so tomorrow really won't be any different.  We are planning a full day of watching movies and schnacking tomorrow.  I am going to make a pot of chili on Christmas morning (I know, so not normal for Christmas) but I have been known to break a few traditional rules.  I am really so very anxious to watch my kids open their gifts!  Unfortunately, I have never taken a decent Christmas morning photo, so the challenge is ON!

Merrychristmas

Title: Merry Christmas

Christmas Cheer stap set, Maya Road chipboard, Doodlebug glitter and glitter paper, Basic Grey red paper and Paper Salon green paper

*Tip when ink doesn't dry fast enough, heat emboss over the ink with clear powder to set the ink*

*Tip 2 when you are using neutral chipboard, paint it white before adding any white or colored glitter for a more vibrant color*

*FF Donder (not Donner), which means thunder, was the original name of the reindeer who helped pull Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve. He was paired with Blitzen, whoses name means lightning*

Hope you are having a memorable Christmas Eve

HUGE paper hugs,

Kim

with green fingers...

...I say hello :)  Just made another batch of wreath Christmas cookies and I look like my fingers have an algae issue..dang that food coloring...but the results are oh' SO nummmmmy and SO worth it!!

I made 1 layout and 4 cards last night...so proud of myself.  Now to concentrate on the finishing touches of Christmas...and yes, I totally saw it coming,,.it's here and it seems to get here quicker and quicker each year!  Thank you all for your wonderful Christmas music input.  I will be on the lookout for many of those CD's

The winter issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today is now in my hands and I will be giving a couple of issues away here on my blog soon.  This is my most favorite issue yet.  There is a call for Spring projects going on right now, details are on the website.  I will try to remember to post a reminder again when it's closer to the deadline date.

k, the colors are actually quite a bit off, this card is much softer IRL, but the lighting in my bedroom is darker than usual.  I used my Christmas Cheer stamp set along with a Sakura glitter pen, Tinkering Ink paper...super simple but I think it's sweet :)

*Tip try a lavendar and green color combo for your Christmas cards*

*FF The holiday most frequently played last year was "Jingle Bells"*

hope to "see" you tomorrow

December 22, 2007

ahhh, Chrismas is almost here

I am sure it's crazy busy in stores today...the thought makes me cringe :)  I would love to hear what your favorite Christmas CD is please :) I have a couple but I really need to buy some for next year.

These are my favorite Christmas cookies to make...could be cuz they are super easy to make (no baking involved) or it could be cuz they taste oh' so good!  My Godmother made these every Christmas and I looked forward to going to their house to EAT THEM!!

Wreathcookies

1 stick of butter, 1 bag of marshmallows, green food color, corn flakes and red hot candies...that's it!!

first melt the butter, add green food coloring and stir in the bag of marshmallows until they are melted down...stir the while time.  Then add in corn flakes...approx. 5-7 cups.  Keep stirring until they are all covered with green goo..  Then place piles onto wax paper and form a wreath shape...add red candies on...yummmmm :)

Christmas Cheer stamp set, polka dot backgrounder by CHF...I know, enough with the polka dots already right?  hehe:), Heidi Grace paper, Doodlebug brad and glitter.  I used a sketch from my frend Di's BLOG

*Tip heat emboss polka dots onto paper to make it look like it's a part of the paper*

*FF At any one time, there are 100 million phone conversations going on in the United States* (how many of you are on the phone right now?  :)

Enjoy your weekend
