November 2007

November 30, 2007

yesterday was...

a whirlwind.  So many people shared their great news with me...they received acceptance e-mails from the recent Paper Crafts Stamp It! call...requesting cards using MY stamps!!  I am seriously blown away and so, so, so happy.:)  super huge congrats to all of them.

I am going to post sneaks here on my blog, using my 3rd stamp release starting tomorrow and take you to release day on Dec. 11, so be on the lookout.  :)

I decided to make lasagna last night (one of about 5 dinners that I actually can cook) and pulled out my large pan in the bottom drawer of my stove and found a pink Prima flower, couldn't help but laugh to myself...I am sure many of you have been there, am I right?

I used the cute curls and silhouette blooms 1 stamp set (can't get enough of ths set) and a textured harlequin backgrounder from CHF.  I heat embossed the stamps and chalked over the entire thing (then rubbed off the excess). Sakura glitter pen, Doodlebug brad and Pebbles chalk

*Tip use a colored pencil on top of an embossed image to add subtle color*

*Tip 2 if you can't tuck a photo corner under the paper due to stitching, cut off the bottom and adhere on top if the paper (this is a great way to cover up imperfect stitching)*

*FF A new book is published every 13 minutes in America*

have a great day!

I won!

I received an e-mail from Becky at Page Maps this morning...I won the 3 x 8 card size category and I am sooooo excited!  It will be on her newsletter which I will post here when I see it...so totally fun.  :)  2 of my friends let me know yesterday that they are having cards published in June/July Paper Crafts issue using my stamps...whoa, what a feeling I tell you.  I am unbelievably beyond myself about that news.  Congrats girls!!  :)

Let's talk flock!  k, I looooove this stuff...but it's such a bummer that you can't REALLY appreciate it unless you can TOUCH it.  So, while I love making projects with it, you can't get the gist on a computer screen or in publication...just stinks is all.  Heidi Grace does flock the best, I think.

Title: (have no idea what to call this) :)

This card is actually a lot softer IRL and is covered in FLOCK...oh so soft!  Heidi Grace holiday papers, Imaginisce flowers

(Promise to have some stamped cards soon) I have been playing but I am struggling a bit)  :)

*Tip Use patterned paper for the center of flowers*

*Tip 2 introduce a third color as an accent (I did this with pink stitching and a pink rhinestone)*

*FF The ampersand (&) was once a letter of the English alphabet*

I so don't mean to be a tease, but my 3rd stamp release arrived yesterday and this is my favorite release yet!  (I have plenty of sets to give away, so please check back often)

Silhouette Blooms 1 (wait til you see Silhouette Blooms 2...you had to know that was coming eh) :)  Dream Street and Cosmo Cricket papers, Autumn Leaves brad and Beaux Regards ribbon

*Tip Use only a portion of a stamp on paper to make it look like it has always been there...silhouette stamps work great for this effect*

*Tip 2 most double sided patterned papers have a white core, so sand the edges to bring out the white*

*FF Donald Duck comics were banned in Finland because he didn't wear pants* (huh?)

thanks for stoppig by :)  have a GREAT day!

November 26, 2007

my blog is now...

my morning coffee and has been such a good thing for me.  It gives me something to look forward to each day...just bummed that I didn't start earlier.  It's awesome having you here with me.

I took my kids to see Enchanted on Sunday night...it was totally adorable and I will buy it when it comes out on DVD for sure.  Yesterday I made a card for the Page Maps November Card Contest.  It's been so long since I have entered a contest, I just thought I might give it a try.  Funny thing is, I have no idea what the prize is, just that it's an "awesome boo-tay package" (cute)  I also drew a new stamp set last night! :)

Lisa Strahl has designed some AMAZING new Backgrounder stamps for CHF.  They are listed in alphabetical order on the CHF site.  The newest backgrounder release is on December 1.  You can see some samples that she made on her blog that are oh' so delish!!

Title: Be You

Creative Imaginations (Creative Cafe) journal block, paper and sticker....very cool stuff!  and Making Memories ribbon, EK Success heart punch

*Tip use a scalloped template (like the one that Crafter's Workshop makes) for custom decorative edges, or trace scalloped card stock onto the back of your paper*

*Tip 2 add to journal squares as if they were small pieces of decorative paper and work around it*

*FF Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump (definitely a good thing)

Mondays are a good thing...enjoy

Phew...one to go

I went Christmas shopping today and only have 1 gift left to pick up...what a great feeling.  I wasn't even close to having such a good handle on Christmas last year...I am thrilled!!

I scrapped with some dear friends last night...love spending time with them.  Between last night and this morning, I completed 8 cards!  I haven't photographed them yet because it's too dark right now, but I will post them through out the week.  I have all of my sketch cards done for the CPS Blog until the end of December...love that!

Word is that my 3rd stamp release will be on December 11.  Of course this may change and if it does, I will post here.  I love that CHF makes all of their stamps and are able to release new sets so often.  We are prepping a bit for CHA.  More details to come.  I am beyond excited about all of this.  ;)  I appreciate all of you hanging out here with me

This card was published in Paper Trends Dec/Jan 2006 Issue:  The penguin slides down the hill to greet his buddy.

Happy Black Friday

I was out shopping the other day and said to my husband "You couldn't catch me dead shopping on Friday" what?!? seriously?  As soon as I said that, I was like, "did I just say that?"  I hope no one catches me dead anywhere.:) I know I have said that before, but I really hope I don't say it again, how silly.  Any ways, I don't enjoy shopping when there's crowds, I have so many friends shopping today and it's fun for them, but I shy away from Black Friday every year. Those of you who are shopping today, hope you get some great deals :)

I thought I'd make a card using black today

Darling

Happy Thanksgiving

brrrr, it's c.c.c...cold!!  What a perfect day to cozy up with some movies with my kids.  I could serioulsy not be more blessed.  I am thankful for SO many things...but mostly I am thankful for my family, our health, my true friends and a job that I absolutely love.  (I  could go on and on, but I hope that I included everyone and everything that is VERY special to me)

Givingthanks

:)

well, hello there.  I am sure many of you are getting ready for Thanksgiving.  My family of 4 are here in UT all alone.  Most of our family are in NY and PA.  Thanksgiving was my favorite holiday until we moved to UT 2 plus years ago.  To me, there's nothing like Thanksgiving at my Grandma's house.  The warmth of the fire, the sound of the football game in the background, cutting up the freshest fruit salad...I could go on and on.  What I miss most is hugging my cute, adorable Grandma...I soooo miss her!  We will have a nice, quiet day and night and enjoy our store bought cooked "chicken" don't laugh...I can't cook :) I can make all of the trimmings, but I would for sure ruin a turkey!

Letsgetstuffed

Title: Let's Get Stuffed

Let's get stuffed stamp set and the turkey from "Gobble Til You Wobble" stamp.  SEI patterned papers, Creative Imaginations (Creative Cafe) decoratived edged paper, Around The Block colored pencils
