Blooming Button Bits

 

I used 4 images from the set

Papertrey products:

Blooming Button Bits stamp set, Spring Moss and Vintage Cream card stock, Dark Chocolate Vintage Buttons, Spring Moss, Terra Cotta, True Black and Orange Zest inks, Rustic Jute button twine

I used the vase in the non-traditional way...with the smaller opening on top.  I inked the leaf and stem and removed ink from the other surrounding images so that I only stamped what I wanted.  I did the same with the flower.  I bent the sentiment on the acrylic block and stamped in a curve that wraps around the flower.  I thought flags on the ends would add that special touch.

surprise!!

It's me again :)  sometimes one post is just not enough for one day, especially since I have something fun to share!!

I am designing downloadable templates starting this month for Papertrey...yay!!

I designed this "all you need is love" card template.  (The word was hand drawn) There are some special surprises that are included with each template...so please stay tuned for more details.

Papertrey: Summer Sunshine & Spring Moss inks, Fancy Flourishes stamp set.  Zva Creative: CR02CA127 pearls and bulk flowers

I printed the template and cut the word from the 8 1/2 x 11 white card stock, inked the flourishes in 2 colors and embellished with some gingham ribbon and Zva goodies.

I kept the design super simple so that I didn't take away from the base.  The shape and word takes care of the card base and sentiment, so technically all that is needed are some fun personal touches.  The templates work with die cutting machines as well..uh bonus!!  Keep an eye out for more projects over the next few days including countdown projects for the December stamp release for PTI.

...I do miss it, I must admit.  I don't miss the cold, but that beautiful white stuff is oh so nice to see once and a while...so I am going to have to be satisfied with playing with my snowman pictures once and a while.

I used Claudine Hellmuth Studio paints with my stamps.  The chipboard button was painted and I added glitter on top of the paint when it was wet.  American crafts letter stickers, Prism card stock

*FF A headache and inflammatory pain can be reduced by eating 20 tart cherries* (yummm)

Our First Zva Creative Blog Hop!

We vacationed every year in Ocean City, NJ.  When I was 5, I met a girl from Rhode Island and we became instant friends.  We introduced our parents and they hit it off too.  We vacationed the same 2 weeks every year with them until we were into our teens.  Boy did we have fun together!!  We have remained friends all through the years and I feel so fortunate to know her.  Where is this going you ask?  Well, I'd like to support her and her newest venture...she is selling a great product that I thought I'd tell you about.  The company is called Arbonne (I have a permanent direct link to her site on the left side of my blog) She was so sweet to send me some samples and I fell in love with the eye cream...yes, I do honestly think it makes my eyes look younger.  So, I just wanted to share that with you in case you are in need of some pampering like me.

Just For Fun day!

Here I am again with my JiFFy girls...playing with some Cosmo Cricket paper that Lori chose and Michele chose an adorable stamp set called Snow Day by My Favorite Things stamps.  MFT was so wonderful to sponsor our group this month..thanks so much Kim!

I colored the image with colored pencils and wrapped some Creative Impressions twine around the center.  I bent the sentiment around the image...love that about clear stamps!

This is my last month working with Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine.  It was a pleasure working with them so closely over the past 3 years and I will miss them so much.  We remain very close friends and I will look forward to chatting with them often and seeing what they have in store for us all in 2010.  I have my last challenge posted today on their BLOG and I will have a tutorial posted on Wednesday using Basic Grey.  The winter issue will be releasing soon, so I will keep you posted on that.

*FF Chewing on gum while cutting onions can help a person from producing tears* (huh, might have to try that)

not me...well, maybe I will dabble a little, if I get up the nerve.  The hustle and bustle really does freak me out a bit, I must admit.  That zombee stare of those on a mission to get that perfect gift...yikes, makes me shiver.

I did create a page for My Mind's Eye with a "what are we thankful for theme".  The other MME designers created a page as well, you can see theirs HERE

 

of course I chose my kids.  I just adore those little guys.  Well, I guess I can't say that about Mitch anymore...he's pushing 5'9 at 12 years old *gulp*

Six years later, they were married, but the marriage only lasted a year. Not long after, Bill's 30-year-old son Stephen married Mandy's mother, age 46. That made Stephen a stepfather to his former stepmother. If Bill and Mandy had remained married, Stephen would have been his father's father-in-law and his own grandpa* (this made me LOL)

Happy Thanksgiving

I had this post ready to go on Wed. night, but I really wanted to get the chance to tell you all how blessed that I feel that you are a part of my life and wish you the happiest of all Thanksgivings.

 

I am thankful & grateful for SO many things this year but especially: My amazing kids, my incredible Dad, the sweetest friends & family a girl could ask for, good health, laughter, ART, the companies that I work with and good music and coffee to keep me company while I create.

I will miss my Grandma more than anyone today...having Thanksgiving dinner in her home has always been the highlight of my year and I have missed that for 5 years now.  She is very healthy, but over 2,000 miles away along with so many other family members that I miss dearly.  I am not the best cook, so we will be dining out :)

*FF The average person consumes 4,500 calories on Thanksgiving Day* (nothing like a little Christmas shopping to help take off some of those calories)

Wellll hellllo sweeties!!

I am feeling SO much better today, thank goodness...I don't have time to be sick...ack!  Thanks for the well wishes.

 

Graphic 45 papers, Prism card stock.  I used circle punches for the coffee mug.  I stitched the stems but it didn't show up too well, so I went over them with a colored pencil (maybe it was a pen...I can't remember) I am re-thinking the sentiment placement, but when you commit to using a rub-on, well, that's the way it goes sometimes.

I don't have a heck of a lot to chat about today (wish I did) I found out where I will be teaching this year at the CKC events for Paper Crafts.  I will check to see if I can say where, so I will keep you posted.

*FF Forty percent of Americans iron their clothes while wearing their underwear or being completely naked* (I am already cringing at the visual, much less the thought of how they would know that)

I am off to pick up Alayna from school.  I hope you are all enjoying your day
